Cabinet Secretary commends progress in of Construction of the Tuition at KIHBT

KIHBT has advanced in the construction of the Tuition Block in Ngong Campus funded by EASTRIP. The block is at 50% completion with works currently on the second floor. The Institute hosted the Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport, Davis ChirChir and the Principal Secretary for Roads Eng. Joseph Mbugua on a mission to inspect the ongoing construction that is set to be completed within the stipulated timeline.

Upon completion, the new Tuition Block is expected to enhance the learning environment at KIHBT with its state-of-the-art classrooms, modern training equipment, laboratories and other specialized resources.

The Principal Secretary Roads, Eng. Joseph Mbugua expressed his pride at being a former student of KIHBT. He reckoned his days at the KIHBT Kiisi campus where he trained as an engineer. He encouraged the institution to keep the good work up.

In addition, the Cabinet Secretary Roads and Transport, Davis Chirchir EGH emphasized the importance of expansion of training facilities saying, Training the bedrock of society. He pledged his efforts to support KIHBT’s continued growth as a Centre of excellence

KIHBT also showcased the Plant Operator Course through the Construction Plant Simulator acquired through the EASTRIP project whose technology aims at honing trainees with skills before stepping onto the actual construction site, contributing towards training efficiency and accessibility.

The project is specifically designed to cater to the growing demand for skilled professionals by bridging the gap between the Curriculum and Industry needs in the areas Highways and other infrastructure related disciplines by offering them a conducive environment for both theoretical and practical training.
