Meru National Polytechnic continues to distinguish itself as a center of excellence in technical and vocational education, following its outstanding performance in the recently concluded Dual TVET Programme within the Mt. Kenya Region. The institution proudly received prestigious trophies in recognition of its exemplary performance.
The official handover ceremony was held at the institution, where the trophies were presented to the Chief Principal, Dr. Mutembei Kigige, PhD, OGW. The presentation was conducted by the Industrial Liaison Officer, Mr. Stephen Ndila, alongside Ms. Lucy Gacheri, the Internal Quality Assurance Officer and Gender Lead Officer. The ceremony marked a significant milestone in the institution’s journey toward strengthening its dual training approach and fostering strong industry partnerships.

Special emphasis has been placed on ensuring gender balance and supporting trainees living with disabilities, thereby creating equal opportunities for all learners to thrive.
Speaking during the ceremony, the Chief Principal commended the staff and trainees for their dedication, teamwork, and commitment to excellence. He noted that the achievement reflects the collective effort of all stakeholders, including trainers, administrative staff, industry partners, and the trainees themselves.
The success in the Dual TVET Programme also underscores the importance of industry-aligned training. By continuously reviewing its curriculum and engaging with industry players, the institution ensures that its training programmes remain relevant and responsive to the evolving needs of the job market.
As the institution celebrates this milestone, it also extends an invitation to prospective trainees to enroll in the ongoing May intake. Courses offered include Automotive Engineering, Electrical and Electronics, Catering and Accommodation, Masonry, Plumbing, Agricultural Extension, Electrical Installation, and Cosmetology.
