I currently work with Carnival Cruiseline, forming part of the engine watch team as I aspire for growth. I appreciate the support I got from my lecturers for they were very supportive and understanding. I therefore encourage those pursuing the course to be consistent for the fruits of this career path are very sweet.

Kidisa Bilgram – A Proud Beneficiary of the Student Exchange Programme

Kidisa Bilgram is a former student of KCNP and a beneficiary of the EASTRIP student exchange programme. He narrates his story below:

“I first learnt about the student exchange opportunity from my Head of Department, Mr. Albert Ogae, shortly after completing my Level 6 course in Maritime Transport and Logistics. The moment I heard about it, I knew I had to try. I applied, and in April 2024, I received the life-changing news—I had been awarded a scholarship to pursue International Shipping Management.

I joined thirty-one (31) other students from the region for the programme at the National Institute of Transport (NIT) in Tanzania. The programme began online, eventually transitioning into an intensive one-month physical session at NIT. In December 2024, I successfully completed the course. The experience was nothing short of transformative—living in Tanzania, embracing a new culture, and learning alongside students from different backgrounds enriched me academically and personally.

Armed with new knowledge and key competencies in International Shipping Management, I applied for an internship and was selected for a paid position at LPC Global Logistics – Cargo Freight Station (CFS). I currently serve as a Shipping Clerk, a role that has opened doors I never imagined.

This opportunity has truly changed my life. Without the exchange programme, I would not be where I am today, and for that, I am deeply grateful.”
