General Wingate Polytechnic College, Ethiopia on a Staff Exchange Program at KIHBT

The Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT) has just concluded hosting an exchange program of five trainers from General Wingate Polytechnic College (GWPTC). The institute has Cooperation Agreements with learning institutions both locally and in the region to foster regional integration especially with staff exchange and student mobility. One of institutions that have collaborated with KIHBT in the region and more specifically from Ethiopia is General Wingate Polytechnic College (GWPTC) with focus Staff exchange and Joint Research.

During the exchange program duration, the trainers get attached to their respective departments an opportunity to transfer knowledge of skills and expertise between the two institutions, where the staff members learn new techniques, methodologies and best practices from both institutions.

The students also get exposed to diverse perspectives in terms of ideas and methodologies which broaden their academic experience not to mention the interaction of cultures.

In the past both institutions have exchanged trainers in different departments such as Civil, Highway, Electrical, Building, Mechanical Engineering and Information Communication Technology.
