Dire Dawa Polytechnic in Ethiopia has successfully generated over USD 60,000 in revenue through technical support provided to local industries.  This income generation initiative aligns with the East Africa Skills for Transformation and Regional Integration Project (EASTRIP), which encourages regional TVET institutes to enhance their financial sustainability.

Over the first three years of EASTRIP’s implementation, the Polytechnic built strong industry partnerships through awareness campaigns, MOUs, and direct technical support.  This relation-building phase led to significant income generation in the subsequent two years, exceeding USD 60,000 in cash revenue.  The college has also received over 3.34 million euros in in-kind support from the Skill Initiative for Africa (SIFA) program.
