Ten Eritrean refugee students have graduated at Kombolcha Polytechnic College in Ethiopia. The students received certificates for short-term training in food preparation offered jointly with the Tourism Training Institute and the Refugee and Returnee Bureau in Ethiopia. The Bureau was very instrumental in facilitating the selection of these students from their refugee camps.
The training programme is part of the East Africa Skills for Transformation and Regional Integration (EASTRIP) effort to promote regional integration in Eastern and Sub-Saharan Africa.
The enrollment of regional students to EASTRIP supported TVET centers of excellence has not only promoted regional integration but has enhanced access to TVET programs.
