Officials at the Ministry of Labour and skills paid a courtesy visit to Dire Dawa Polytechnic in Ethiopia to evaluate the status of construction supported by the EASTRIP with funding from World Bank.
Together with the World Bank construction contractor and consultant, the officials who included the state minister of the Ministry of Labor & Skills, His excellency Dr. Teshale Berecha, the college managing board chairperson & Head of Prosperity Party in Dire Dawa, his excellency Ibrahim Yusuf and Head of the Bureau of Labor, Skills & Technology Development Mr. Robel Getachew.
The contractor gave assurance to the delegation that the construction is on schedule and the remaining work would be completed within the contract time.

The East Africa Skills for Transformation and Regional Integration Project has maintained its commitment to supporting select TVET insititutes into becoming Regional Centers of Excellence by providing the necessary infrastructure. The construction of an administration block and a workshop facility at Kombolcha Polytechnic is currently at 17.82 % with support from EASTRIP and funding from World Bank with more than to 90% of project requirements.
EASTRIP ensures that all its projects are conducted in accordance with Environmental and Social impact safe guarding requirements.
