Various research studies on female participation in TVET have identified several hindering factors, including college-related, trainer-related, parental, and socio-cultural influences that discourage females from pursuing such programs, particularly those classified as difficult. To address these obstacles and enhance female enrollment, Dire Dawa Polytechnic College has designed a range of strategies. Among these initiatives is the provision of incentives to motivate female students, such as free driving training and Bachelor’s degree scholarships, aimed specifically at those considering enrollment in the challenging courses.
