EASTRIP Invests Over USD6 Million in ICT Infrastructure for Ethiopian Polytechnic Colleges

In an effort to advance digitization and enhance digital skills in Ethiopia, the Ministry of Labor and Skills, through the East Africa Skills for Transformation and Regional Integration Project (EASTRIP), recently handed over ICT equipment and infrastructure worth USD6 million to 10 polytechnic colleges in Ethiopia.

The handover was part of the efforts by the Ministry of Labor and Skills to modernize the ICT infrastructure of TVET Institutions in the country.

The State Minister for TVET, Dr. Techale Brecha (Centre) with representatives of TVET institutions in Ethiopia.

Ms. Kalkidan Tadesse, the EASTRIP Project Coordinator for Ethiopia said, “The state-of-the-art ICT Infrastructure and infrastructure will support TVET institutions to implement blended learning as they transition to becoming centers of excellence in technical and vocational education.”

The Ministry of Labor and Skills, in alignment with its digitization reform agenda, continues to drive positive change within the TVET sector. The impact of this substantial investment is expected to empower students and educators alike with the tools necessary to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
