KIHBT conducts Awareness Campaigns to increase female enrolment in TVET programmes

KIHBT has been participating in career fairs through its outreach programme to increase create awareness of the long term TVET programmes offered by the Institute. The campaigns are often aimed at increasing female enrolment in technical courses with particular focus on Highways Technology.

Besides the targeted female enrolment campaign, the outreach team has been conducting general campaigns in male High schools in a bid to increase overall enrolment. In the recent past KIHBT conducted enrolment campaigns in Nakuru County at a career fair organized by Jomo Kenyatta Boys Highschool for the nearby Schools.

The campaign was a success measured by the number of students interested enrolling in roads and highways courses after their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education Examinations.

The Institute aims to give priority to female applicants and offer them accommodation in the institute for those pursing long-term courses.
