Dire Dawa Polytechnic College in Ethiopia has begun the first phase of constructing training facilities including dormitories, library, training workshops and students’ cafeteria.

One of the key objectives of EASTRIP is to improve the quality of TVET programmes by improving training facilities and equipment for delivery of TVET programmes. It is against this background that Dire Dawa Polytechnic College allocated the lion share of the project budget to the construction of training facilities and for the procurement of training equipment.

Accordingly following the contract agreement made for the first phase of the construction of the training facilities which includes male and female Dormitories, Library, Training workshops and Students’ cafeteria, ground breaking and kickoff meeting with the contractor and supervision consultant, demolishing and site clearance has already completed and now the concrete work of the foundation is undertaking.
