The Occupational Competence Charts were developed to support the implementation of the Regional TVET Qualifications Framework (RTQF-EKT) and the Regional Framework for Occupational Competence Assessment and Certification (RFOCAC).
These charts clearly map out the knowledge, skills, and competences required for different occupational levels, offering a practical tool for trainers, assessors, employers, and learners. They provide benchmarks that ensure consistency in curriculum design, training delivery, and assessment across Ethiopia, Kenya, and Tanzania.
The Occupational Competence Charts standardise competences and link them directly to labour market needs, thereby enhancing quality assurance, mutual recognition of qualifications, and labour mobility within the region. They serve as an essential reference for developing a skilled and competitive workforce to advance East Africa’s transformation and integration.
