Arusha Technical College conducts workshop to validate results of a tracer study

On Wednesday of 23th June, Arusha Technical College (ATC) hosted a tracer study workshop to present finding of conducted tracer study to different stakeholders in the country. During the opening of stakeholder workshop, the college rector Dr. Musa N. Chacha outlined the objective of tracer study is to find out how graduates of ATC perform in the labour market by directly asking the graduates themselves and their employers in order to establish point of improvement for the college, curricular and future students.

The tracer study conducted covered graduates of ATC for graduates of three years (2017,2018 and 2019). The main data collection instruments used were self-completed questionnaire for graduates and semi-structured interviews for employers

The general finding on employability shows that, 56.1% of all graduates are employed under permanent and on contract basis, 14.3% were attending further studies and 29.6 were unemployed and looking for employment. Both students and employer rated the quality of competence received at ATC as very good.

The stakeholders found the trace study report to be very well written and give the tracer study team different review comment and recommendation for future study.
