Kombolcha Polytechnic College signs Memorandum of Understanding with IPDC

Kombolcha Polytechnic College signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC), the development corporation mandated, among others, with developing and administering Industrial Parks.

Based on the previous acquaintance on the implementation of the East Africa Skills Transformation and Integration Project (EASTRIP) both parties have expressed their interest to work together and strengthen partnership at strategic areas.

The parties recognize the benefits derived from increased mutual collaboration and cooperation for further common promotion and understanding of high-performance knowledge, skills, and information transfer in the sector.

 

Mr Melaku Aragaw, Dean of Kombolcha Polytechnic College, signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in lieu of the college. Mr Melaku said that the purpose of signing this agreement is to facilitate the development of cooperation and mutually beneficial program and institutionalization of industry and college linkage that serves to hasten the capacity of trainers at the college and the technical staffs at the industry through East Africa Skills Transformation & Regional integration Project- EASTRIP and the college.

 

It is also said that the MoU would be an important bridge to enable graduate employment opportunity. Uninterrupted information communication flow between the college and the industry means that there would be a wider chance of information flow from the industry to the college on available job vacant positions in the industry, which pulls to hire graduates of the college. Hence, many citizens would benefit from employment opportunities.
