Under the development of Competency Based programs the institute is expected to develop both long term and short-term programs in a bid to enhance the quality of TVET programs. Recently the institute embarked on development of two long term programs in conjunction with Industry stakeholders to meet the demand in the industry.
In this regard, a workshop was scheduled to develop occupational standards, curricula, and assessment tools for the following long programs:
- Highway Materials Technician-Level 5
- Land Surveying -Level 5
The participants of the activity were the trainers of the institute and industry stakeholders from the sector included representatives from: Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA), Materials research Development (MTRD), State Department of Roads (SDoR), Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KERRA), Kenya Urban Roads Board (KURA) and Technical Vocational Education Training, Curriculum Development Assessment and Certification Council (CDACC)
The development process has been concluded and the documentation is awaiting accreditation from the Technical Vocational Education Training Authority (TVETA).
