Kenya Coast National Polytechnic (KCNP), the Regional Flagship Institute in Marine Transport and Port Logistics under EASTRIP, enrolled regional students from the National Institute of Transport (NIT). The two institutions implementing the EASTRIP project entered into a collaboration in July 2021 that has enabled them achieve most of the Disbursement Linked Indicators.

The NIT students are pursuing a long-term certificate programme in Front Office Administration and Operations. At the same time, forty (40) KCNP students from the Business and Entrepreneurship department were enrolled at the NIT to pursue a certificate course in International Shipping Practice. The two institutions are hoping that these courses will enable their students secure employment in the Shipping , Transport and Maritime industries. The courses will also enable the two countries strengthen regional integration.
