The Arusha Technical College Kikuletwa Campus through EASTRIP project under Environment and Social Safeguard Unit conducted a four-day workshop for 42 members of the Grievances Redress Committee (GRM) on the mechanism to redress social grievances when the project is implemented.

The Environment and Social Safeguard Unit Team Leader Eng. Yusuph Bahayuri said that the workshop covered a total of six villages (Chemka, Rundugai, Mkalama, Kawaya, Chekimaji and Kambi ya Chokaa) and one Ward (Masama Rundugai) and it aims at building capacity to the GRM committee members on how to attend social grievances relating to the project.
“This workshop aims to build capacity to committee members on receiving and addressing various social grievances that might happen when the project is being implemented, they learn mechanisms to provide justice on any case raised by the community members,” Eng. Yusuph explained.
